amni or carota

excuse my stupidity but I always have difficulty between these two..
carota usually has a rounded flower head right ? ...so is this amni majus ?

Carota daucus can have all sorts of inflorescenses from ball shaped to flat shaped as in the pic - a better ID would be from the leaves (Ammi's lower leaves not much dissected, often trefoil).

hint 2:
Tha plant in your pic is a hairy. Daucus is hairy but not sure about Ammi - so if you find that ammi is glabrous than its logic!

I seem to think my pic is Amni as carota is usually ( I think ) much more leeafy ....also carota I tend to think of as inhabiting seaside loacations or nearby whereas amni goes more for disturbed ground and sometimes garigue - am I correct

where is Sdravko or the German experts when you need them ???

1) Ammi usually flowers from mid April to June
2) I seen Daucus carota growing on many types of habitats - not restricted to coastal areas.
3) The Daucus carota growing by the coast is somehow different as it bears more leaves, which are thicker and somehow shiny.
4) The inflorescence of Daucus can be anything from flat to globose

The photo on its own is not enough for a definite ID...
Can you post a photo of the leaves - it should be enough!
