I think I have seen it but can't say what it is as I dont know. It is a tree that makes lot of flowers I think. buq!

you are right, they remind Lemon/Orange flowers, but related? Ok, let me say: a relationship like between an Orange and Xumakk Falz

From the last clue given, it must be Pistacia, Schinus or Rhus - Schinus is an ornamental and unlikely to be present at Babu, and any way the flowers are much smaller than about 1 cm, Pistacia it is not since the flowers are different - therefore it must be Rhus - Rhus coriaria (I have never seen this plant)

btw: it is not an ornamental but an indigenous one (there are several locations in Malta)

The woody shrub can grow to 5m long and more- some very big ones grow in Wied Babu close to the bridge from the road Zurrieq-Blue Grotto, another one approximately in the middle of Wied Babu, few smaller ones at the top of Jubilee Grove close to the fortifications... Fruits are very interesting and conspicuous, remind to an edible Solanaceae which is sometimes used for decoration of deserts

Ah, now it is much better - Cardiospermum, probably Cardiospermum hirsutum (= C. grandiflorum) - I have never come across Cardiospermum, and it is not recorded in Haslam's flora so I did not consider it as a possibility - these quizzes are nice because you always end up learning new things
