What is this plant - looks to be a relative of thyme?!

Afterall is it wild plant or an ornamental? Found at the forest/woodland at the area of Mosta (near Mcast Art Design institute)

Could be Lavandula pinnata, an ornamental in Germany.

yes greenhorn, FERN-LEAF LAVENDER, Lavandula multifida or L. pinnata, in Malta a not very common planted ornamental, in contrast to other medit. islands.
