Is Brachypodium retusum so variable ?

Post by MWP admin »

I have found the tiniest specimen of what I believe to be Brachypodium retusum, though it might be some other B. species on a rocky habitat. Some weeks ago I also found another plant that I identified it as B. retusum which was in better soil conditions and grew to 100cm gigh and nice inflorescences.

The pics below speak by themselves.

Would like to know if both are Brachypodium retusum or something else (or some subsp. / var. / forma)

I do not confirm yet Brachypodium retusum for the tiny thing and would never do so without having a dried specimen in my hand... :(
