Maltese Nemesia sp. (Trapdoor)

Post by gg11390 »

I found a fairly large spider (black, hairy one) near a rocky beach laying on a wall at night, and I concluded it may be of the genus nemesia.

Later on I came across a trapdoor nest (in the picture the one coming out of the trapdoor nest) and could photograph the trapdoor spider coming out, Nemesia arboricola, the only known trapdoor in Malta.

Can these two be of the same species?
