Ononis biflora ?

Post by MWP admin »

I found a population of Ononis (without flowers) which may be (wishfully) Ononis biflora. The stipules do not match O. mitissima or O. reclinata. Not being shrubby, it is not O. natrix. It did not have the peculiar smell of O. viscosa. The hairs were not glandular.

Promising to be a good species like O. biflora.

It was found in abandoned fields below the hotel at Xaghra facing Zebbug - The Cornicopuae (or something like that!) hotel.

For your info, Ononis biflora was reported by Timothy Tabone at fields at Nufara, but I never met them yet.
