This is a purely cultivated specimen in Gozo, and actually I only seen like it in this garden. The fruit were very conspicuous and finally I parked the car to check the plant. The flowers were also very peculiar, like the fruit a ball with long non-hard spines looking like samoe ball-head hammer weapon of medevial battles!
Arbutus unedo was the closest I could match (just a wild idea from the fruit).
I think I saw a similar specimen in Swede. _________________ Stephen Mifsud
