Maltawildplants.com is now considered an online flora of the Maltese islands, portraying more than 900 species of plants found in Maltese habitats. It harbours a forum created in 2005 were memberes discuss topics about the Maltese flora and ID of plants.
I don't think its a rock pool specialist though. A similar looking plant I often find in this habitat and sometimes partly in the water is Juncus bufonius, the toad rush.
Yes I confirm Juncus bufonius, after examing in deeper detail the flora of or around pools recentely.
I found several pops at Ta' Cenc of the grass shown here and they where found related to damp places / mud or some partially submerged in shallow pools. The red awns makes them looks something interesting/distinctive from other grasses.

I have only found juncus bufonius very recently in rock pools at wied incita where in fact HC Weber indicates it is.

Wolf, yes I actually meant that I confirm the statement that Juncus bufonius is commonly found near rockpools. I have found it at ta' Cenc last weekend.
This grass is probably food for the experts, though I shall give HAslam keys a try.
no prob MWP - I know what you mean as grasses confuse me big time. Juncus bufonius however is easy to recognise in flower once you know what it looks like
