For my second post in this forum i give you some photos of a Silene sp. (Malta...but i don't know where !)
An idea ?

Dear Daniel,

I would reply straight away Silene colorata, but since you are posting (a non amateur :lol: ) I can tell you that some new taxa of this plant have been described from Italy/France based on microscopical examination on the seeds. One of them is for example Silene sericea.

Last year I checked a couple of random specimens from Malta and all resulted Silene colorata.

I remember that this was my first botanical question when creating the plant profile of Silene colorata back in 2003!!!

Thank you, with the photo it was impossible for me to give a name
I know S. sericea from Corsica island (it's a tyrrenian endemic).
S. colorata have winged seeds and sericea no !
