Chenopodiacea species

Post by John Holst »

Are there other Arthrocnemum species in Malta than A. glaucum (= A. macrostachyum)?

Looks like A. hastata too, but had it been in Denmark I would have waited untill it was fully grown before I dared give it a name, since it looks very much like a young specimen of A. longipes. But since the latter species doesn't occur in Malta it has to be A. hastata.

I end this thread with three pics of B. vulgaris ssp. maritima. I'm quite sure they are all that species, but I just have this little doubt: Could it be something else that I'm not aware of because I'm not familiar with the Maltese flora?

there is another 2 species similar to Arthrocnemum glaucum that have been reported in the past. I have never met with them. your specimen is definitely that.

A. hastata (both specimens seem fine).
I'm still exploring the Chenopodium sp. so an expert would help you in those.
The Beta vulgaris ssp. maritima seem to be correct, although the photographs are quite from a distance.
