Bright red, Olive-green, cyan and Black dragonfly
I found a nice specimen of a dragonfly (or damesfly!) that I do not recall I have ever seen. It was in the range of 5cm-7cm in length, seen today at 11am. Would like to have the identification pls.

Looks like a female Orthetrum brunneum. Dragonflies tend to be very hard to id since they have different colours when looked from different angles.
Beautiful creatures Dragonflies are.
Excellent eye-sight, head can be revolved like that of a praying mantis and they are amazing when they fly. Better than any snitch in the Harry Potter series.

Is this the female of Sypetrum fonscolombii or another species (eg: Crocothemis erythraea ) Thanks.
