Red Ovate berries.

Found these curious elongated red berries...

1) is it a Rosa species ?? Doubt because no spines!
2) Wild / cultivated escape / garden escape thing?

yes: Rosa sp.!
Not a berry it is a red coloured hypanthium, the"hip"-
no spines they have few curved prickles!

I went near the huge tree-like rose and have some fresh photos, but no flowers yet.

What do you think it is? Just an insignificant cultivar?

i think none of the native sp. is it spreading?

So far 2 specimen outside.... but not really really in the wild. Both near urban/agricultuure areas.

planted shrubs or trees can survive for decades without care. i would call it naturalized only if growing in a place where it can not be planted like a rock crevice or if you found seedlings.

I am more towards the cultivated version rather than naturalized. We keep the suspense (curiosity) of this species when it flowers around Apr (hope I am assuming right timing for flowers)
