I dont know pic 2, but following pine's comment about fasciculation, i remebered that Weber's mentions this malformation for Samolus valerandii... (and Amaranthus and Sanguisorba).

When JP says that we know the plant (but I dont reckognize it) I get a bit

I looked closely to the photo and the stacks of linear leaves guided me to Lythrum, probably the larger flower one, that is Lythrum junceum.

PS: I dont even know that I have these smileys!!

Seems to have spines... I would say Rosa canina wit ha big

since it is very rare but I recall it was mentioned to be encountered at Gozo.
