gozo tree

hi all
found this tree in flower in gozo some time back - i am pretty sure it is ornamental and not native but i am still curious

ps. Sdravko - i found the lablab bean growing in another place in gozo too - this time it was on the edge of a field

Where you found the lablab tree exactly in Gozo?

pity its a cultivar as i suspected but beautidful nonetheless

the lablab i first found in september just below upper cliff face between ramla and san blas but have no idea what the place is called - second time i found it last month at edge of a field on the outskirts of qala ( road that leads to kuncizzjoni chapel i think ) - both places i suppose planted or an escapee - but funny as it seems a strange plant for malta ( gozo in fact ) never seen it anywhere in malta but then i dont do fallow and disturbed sites too much - i prefer boulder screes and garigues for stuff

Thanks Wolf I try to include it in my hunting* list, though like you I am moer into native stuff. As you pointed out, there are some species that are found (almost) only in Gozo, though on the other hand, Gozo is deprived from Orchids compared to Malta - strange hux!
