Yes you (and later pine) are correct - I found this gall (pls confirm JP ) on Zannichellia melitensis. Is it cassed by a parasite or some rare ocassion of hypertrophy?

there are, if i remember right, 2 (unpublished) locations worldwide with these aquatic galls, one discovered by Edwin Lanfranco i think, the other by my humble self.
although i gave some material to a german professor who was interested i never got a feedback on the results.
yes, MWP, I confirm that the gall is from Z.m.. Have never seen them in life but I know a student who received a sample from our hotel reception. Know nothing about its biology or the gall producer and, in fact, have never been interested in.
