Unfortunately no right answers. So, Let me send some hints:
First, due to the degree of difficulty, the pics came in another direction, so it has to be: 1. very easy 2. medium 3. well done (pretty difficult).

Not easy to take a photo, but you (except greenhorn) notice the plant several times each day

everyone (almost everyone in the affluent society) knows the plant, most of us has or have had a specimen, but just a few of us or no one noticed their flowers or fruits.

pic m 17
specimens represent the largest leaves in Malta and have a wrong label in Anton Gds. Greenhorn was close with the family name but only with the name, not due to systematic aspects

To pic 26: I first thought, the leafs could be Ficus elasticus, but found no photo to compare.

No 3 boqq but here goes according to clues:

Monstera (Cheese Plant) - but a very poor fruit indeed - very large leaves, but possibly Musa has larger leaves so would not be largest in Malta??

or

Epipremnum aureum - Mistakenly called philodendron, maybe even at San Anton - mature specimens also have very large leaves, I have never seen a fruit but it must be similar to Monstera, and the stem in the pic looks a LOT like a Epipremnum aureum stem.

Grrrrrr!!!! Especially no. 1!!!

hah, if I am maybe right with my guesses (i am not convinced though) then your picture naming code corresponds to the names of the plants

so for number 1 it starts with a "w" and then the second letter is the species?

Monstera etc is wrong (I said " a dicot" with the largest leaves)...

I think I have 2 qty of pic no 3 in pots... the fruit becomes black and soggy the leaves are long and straplike glossy the tree has a single trunk which then about 10 feet high starts branching a lot such that the tree has a mushroom shape.. but the name fek-all i have no feking idea. I planted these seeds maybe I was 15 yrs old, which is some time ago

I used to collect seeds of all sorts of nice trees and plants and plant them - about the names, I really never cared, when asked "whats that" I used to invent some rubbish hehhehhehee to make people happy, like what difference does it make to them what its called, you should hear the crap I used to make up.

Quite a nice interesting tree. There is one almost as soon as you enter san anton and a number of other specimens around the gardens.

edit - leaves not "straplike" wrong use of word. Leaves like a much larger, more elongated pointy olive-leaf shape (whats that - type called ehh?) but up to about 60cm long.

Pic 17 could be Meryta denhamii ( Araliaceae!) with leafs up to 120 cm, for the Dicot. with the largest leafs is Gunnera manucata and the fruits of that one look really different.

Meryta denhamii is exactly what I was referring to. (l just looked up the pics on google).

It's "m" and "d" also

yes, Meryta denhamii is correct (the sign in San Anton says "Aralia elegantissima"), and Washingtonia robusta is also correvt

Good job, greenhorn & RB (is Gunnera in Malta? Never seen it there).

Well I got an EDUCATION today hehehehe because last visit to s. anton when looking at the Meryta, (reading "Aralia ---"), I thought "oh so that's what it's called".

Thankfully as usual I forgot the name completely!!!

My poor memory may now be justified as "integrated automatic error correction"
