Sorry RB, I am trying to fix these bugs of disappearing posts. I think your plant is Asparagus officinalis, if it is soft and somehow aromatic flowers.
where did you get it and was it a young plant? Did you see any fruit. Maybe a little bit too stout for officinalis but not sure.
There are several cultivated and escaping sp in Malta. just look at St Anton.
