Quiz from MWP - How many you can Identify

In the following 2 pics taken from a wild plant pot, there are several plants labelled X Y Z in one and A B C D E in the other photo.

How many can you identify???

(personally there are 2 I do not know - yet!)

I am very happy that I have B, tried to cultivate it for long!

Dearie me- this is very difficult. A: Romulea! B: Mesembryanthemum cristallinum! C: Anagallis arvensis! D: Arisarum vulgare! E: Lotus edulis or Lotus ornitopodioides, I prefer the last one X: One of the 500 grasses! Y: Colchicum cupani! Z: One of the 800 Asters (Bellis, Hedypnois, Reichardia or Leontodon?)

A and X are the one I do not know.

A = Difficult to say
B = correct - finally I am having one at home!
C = You have to tell me if red or blue flower !!

D = Correct
E = Lotus spp accepted at this stage, we need the flower to distingusih

X = ??
Y = Are you sure? Flowering is nearly over for Colchicum - this have not flowered yet!
Z = Maybe difficult at this stage, but I have an opinion.

Can Mesembryanthemum cristallinum be grown as a perennial if moderately watered in summer?. I really adore this plant, grown from seed (1 from about 40 seeds!) Hope it would not mind a transplant!

Well this is a difficult quiz!
I managed to identify C = Anagallis arvensis,
D = I think is Arisarum vulgare
E is a Lotus sp.
Y = might be an orchid
Z = Compositae
The rest I will wait till they flower, then I will tell you! (maybe)

the blue flowering one (because its more common)

I think it is the red flowered one, Weber, so as to comply with the colour of the pot!

Well, if you have not noted, there are 2 Pimpernels, the other one in the 2nd photo. (XYZ) so to be diplomatic, one will be blue and the other Red.

However at this stage of the Gov legislation (with increased fuel and elec bills) I do not get surprised if both get red next Spring!

All wild plants are doing fine in this pot. Yest gave them some Iron chelates and fertilizer!

There is also Bellis annua growing up, but I think they miss the train for the flowering period.

Z was thinking of Bellis sylvestris ??

Y was thinking of Scilla sicula ???

What are your comments regards my guesses?

Z: could be (but there are some other Asteraceae species with similar rosettes when young...)
Y: I don`t think so, I would confirm Colchicum cupani, in the center you can see small brown-purplish fruits, characteristic for the genus...
There is (as far as I may recognize) Ranunculus bullatus between Y & Z...

Here is a new photo of the XYZ section of the pot in full sunshine (december here)

That brown purple centre was some soil. I clened the plant and it has nothing at the centre. The leaves seam to have 3 longitudinal folds, maybe not visible in the photo) and grown to 5cm in length.

Yes, I took forth-granted Bellis annua without checking well. I confirm, R. bullatus leaves.

Regards Y, what do you say about my suggestion of Scilla spp.?

Scilla sicula (because leaves are small) or a baby Scilla maritima (Urginea maritima) grown from a seed. Dont think it is Colchicium. Orchids?? I wish but lets put our feet to the ground

Z and E: can be guessed easily now
Y: is unfortunately uriginea maritima, no Orchid, no Colchicum, no. S. sicula.
A: This I dont know... Still on Romulea Jack?

This Quiz has turned to an identificatiion request specifically for Plant A, which at first we taught it is a Romulea, but I am sure that it is some not-common Alium species.

The leaves and most of the plant have dried but the scape is still green with a small bud as seen in the photo below. Since being a late flowering (assumingly Alium) I was thinking about A. parciflorum.

Any ideas guys ?
