A couple of pics taken a week ago in Switzerland in the Lugano area - it was really beautiful and amazingly sunny and warm - just enjoy the pics or venture into identification - sw3 looks like a scrophularia and another looks like a farfalle pasta !
Correct answers qualify for a bar of Lindt chocolate...unless the wife beats you to it ( the choc not the identification... )

Bravo ! ...sorry I MEANT linaria when I said scrophularia - but I am not sure I have seen it in Malta
so jack are these typical alpine flora or just mediterranean since the Ticino region has a very mild climate ?
OH! that explains why I heard no growls of wolves (or what word should I use for their sound) on the forum recently, they where enjoying the beautiful flora of Lugano!
Pic 2 really nice, both photo and nature!
Pic 1 never seen it (looked as a strange Viola spp) and quite surprised that it is both in Malta and in Alpine region
the pics were all shot in wild but sometimes close to habitation linaria was on walls everywhere ...as a rule I do not shoot garden plants - it isnt much fun ...
OH Yes, maybe it is that Scrophulariaceae with IVy-like leaves and climber growth habit. Now I am reckognizing it now. I seen it in Ta' Paris, B'kara/Fleur the lys and I think I have a post about it here ?!
the campanula is probably not glomerata biut too many campanulas in switzerland to say anything from just a photo. all three sp are neither alpine nor mediterranean but have a wide distribution in europe.
I assume linaria cymbalaria is synonymous with veronica cymbalaria
...is that correct ? Do not believe this species is too common in Malta but I am pleased to say I located just one plant today at Wied is-Sewda ...interesting also that tribulus terrestris is found in very small patch not too far from mt.carmel hospital
photo of cymbalaria from wied is-sewda attached for comparison

No - Veronica cymbalaria is something else (although it is in the same family)
The synonym of Linaria cymbalaria is Cymbalaria muralis - it is quite frequent on walls around the Balzan Area - a good part of my brother's yard in B'Kara is covered with it
thanks rob...i mix up my latin so hopelessly - ver.cymbalaria is the one we found at selmun way back in feb i think - that time when sdravko showed us his ability to go up vertical cliff faces....
Linaria cymbalaria - Common, maybe overlooked, and highly pestilent!! I had planted some seeds in our garden several years ago, and I am still ripping them out as soon as they appear, in their hundreds, if not controlled!
Yes Extremely difficult to remove. My mum has been trying to remove these from her garden since I was in primary school, to no avail. They creep all over the place!
