"There might be few dozens"

Person A:
"Only that little, I think there are hundreds!"

Person B:

Well I guess we should ask Mr Weber to tell us how many copies of his new book he sells..that should give us an idea!

Book distributers never will inform authors about this due to their more successful business

But from the simple 1st book I know that commonly tourists buy it... (the editor=distributer in this case would say that 100 tourists bought it and 5 Maltese!!), even I know it is on no. 1 or 2 on their bestseller list since 3 years!

I know how you can find out: Everyone of you leave a book of the Maltese flora in your car (good visible) and then we number the broken cars...

To get back on the book.. yes.. unfortunately local publishers will never tell you how much they actually sell.. at least thats what happened in my case... through contacts I had a rough idea which was absolutely not what the publisher told me

I have no idea whether this is reflected abroad though.

Nothing to do with plant biodiversity. It is a workbook for biology form 3 students. Ive had a form 4 version ready since ages and have done already 2 trials with students printing some 150 copies and then selling them to students to get back my costs (they did sell fast though!). I'm a bit wary of publishing such books at the moment, as they require a lot of work and there are a lot of copyright problems due to photocopies etc.

I actually prefer writing articles and features in magazines and would like to publish more academic work. So far I had the opportunity to present a paper during a local conference and co-author a chapter which is in print. Im actually considering leaving the island just like you if I get an opportunity. I wish to go into a more research or academic oriented post.

Pine! what a nice pic of me and my passion - I dont have any such photo in my 15,000 archive from 2001 ! ! ! Save it since I would like to print it in my family album later on. I was with Finland T-Shirt too!

Nice pic - looks like you are in some sort of National Geographic photographer or field researcher in dense forest groundcover not a Maltese botanist in a field near M"Scala

- I guess that it is some sort of Persicaria that you are photographing - What is the species?
