What's this Asteracea

A low growing (up to 20cm) thistle with small purple ligules. (ray florets). Might be something interesting for our botanist friends. I could not rekognize it from the pics I seen in my books.

Carlina lanata. congratulations, its not too common. did you find it on clay?

I did not examined well the soil type, but I would say not obviously clay ground (like those grey slopes)

Hi Wolf, welcome back... When I seen this plant (not knowing what it is) I realized that it is something unusual. During Haslam's era, this plant was described frequent-common!

What are you busy with recentely? Regards last email, I am soon going to work in the new desired place!
