A monocot plant with gladiolus like leaves and orange seeds

Post by MWP admin »

I have found few plants with gladiolus like leaves, plant about 80cm tall (but where in partial shade ( = etiolation??)) and producing an array of capsules on the unbranched scape that split into three locules and bear about 1-2 dozens of bright orange seeds about 4mm across.

Fruit capsules similar to Gladiolus italicus in shape and size but seeds are different.

Curious to know hat might be. There was about 5-8 plant in an area of 2-3metres at Buskett.

I guess it is Iridaceae / Liliaceae Family

Yes, it must be that invasive/alien plant - nothing extra-ordinary then :-(

Thanks
