Monster Plant 1 (a Beta?)

Hi Folks, finally I was good enough for an easy-walk outing in the countryside since I had a physical injury. In the border of a field I found 2 monster plant of which one (this post) is likely an agricultural plant while the other (in a post about wild plants) is likely a Sonchus sp. I think that this plant is a Beta (Beta vulgaris subsp. vulgaris). The leaves were really large, sub-deltoid with very long petioles. No flowers available. The petioles / stem in the middle of the leaves was sparsely hairy. Leaves glabrous, dark green and not aromatic.
