Another tree from Buskett - Cottony fruit!

Another tree at Buskett which I can't Identify. Photos gives all details except the fresh flowers. Seems that it has spikes of very inconspicuous flowers. The fruit looks like a flock of cotton and so I named the images as the cotton tree.
Help appreciated

Boq - the leaves look very much like Pistacia lentiscus

It's not pistaccia unfort. I double checked that I am taking photo of the leaves of the same plant. I attach a photo of inflorescence and similar leaves on same branch to remove any doubt.

This is found near Wied il-Luq (right hand side if walking towards Siggiewi) some 100m before the spring water/ D. kaki. I may be wrong but there are dozens of tehm in the same spot. Trees 3-4 m high (but several young ones and middle-grown ones)
I thought its an easy one!

Are you 100% sure the fluff belongs to that plant.

I've been asking this question to myself several times too! I don't make these mistakes, but I am human being!
It could be that the trees are dioceous and there are the male spikes and the fluffy fruit on the females.
Seems that I have to recheck. I await Miranda to wake up...

that is 101% lentiscus and that fluff I have no idea.

but there is always a but
.
I'll recheck the jungle and come again with more photos.
PS: Could it be some insect making the fluffy silk around a part of the Pistaccia ? I am not noticing any truee solid seeds in the fluff

In that case that ear would need the whole tree
Miranda is happy because we are headed for Buskett tomorrow morning (instead of today) to solve the mystery. I am very afraid to have to report "sorry the fruit belonged to another tree! "
(but I was sure that I followed the tree branch well!)

Finally, I can tell you the secret of this post.
As you correctly said, the tree where the cotton-pappus is not Pistaccia lentiscus, which had numerous catcins hanging on it (as if it where growing from it
) from a higher tree.
So, shall I say what is the name of the tree that produces such fruit (as in pic below sitting on an Ulmus leaf) or you should try to guess? (space for a mini quiz !)
The leaf is not part of the tree in question.

It was fruit of the Popolus alba, which I had never dared to observe
