I’m from the Netherlands, but not a Dutch.
My ancients were the Samurais.
So you may see where I came from.
By the way my countryman saw these strange things on a pine tree in coast of middle Italia.
The tree might be European red pine.
I thought it probably European Mistletoe (VIscum album var, austria….)
But what are then the pine-cone like which are hanging?
They look like a bit pear-fruit.
I believe that the mistletoe has never make such a big fruit.
Beside there are other yellow hairl-like objects.
Who knows this?

A kind of insect may be the maker of these things.
It is a caterpillar called Thaumetopoea pityocampa

This time I found it by chance .
I would like to know more about the plant around the Mediterranean when I face such opportunities.
Pines are quite common trees in Malta, and we have a lot of them at Buskett (limits of Rabat/Dingli) along some streets and the main cemetery (Adolorata, Marsa). The national tree (Tetraclinis articulata) is also a relative of the pine (a conifer tree) but believe it or not it is rather a rare tree in our islands.
If you suffer from hay fever you would not like the pines in Springs as they give off plenty of powder-form pollen! If you shake a small tree it will be covered in a cloud of pollen
Nice trees, needle-like leaves (to resist water loss) and interesting hanging conifers (fruit) made of wood. The latter are sometines used to make touristic / artistic decorations.
Sorry that we could not help you with this querry, and welcome to our forum.
