GEOPHYTE (Bulbous/Rhizomous plants)

Habitat:

Shallow soil in the garigue and in the countryside. Reported to be common in coralline plateaux.

Common

Localities in Malta:

Frequent in garigues in several localities (especially in flat terrains). For example it is very common at Selmun (Malta) and Ta' Cenc (Gozo).

10-25cm.

Apr - Jun

Not Protected by Law (LN200/2011 or LN311/2006)

Red List 1989:

This species has a threatened status and is listed in the Flora section of the National Red Data Book (Lanfranco, 1989)
