Name Derivation: | Anogramma = A Genus of ferns with few species belonging to the family Pteridaceae. The name is composed of two words 'Ano-' = above; upwards; '-gramma' = line or striped. Although its reference is not certain, it may refer linear grooves on the upper surface of the leaves. (Latin origin) leptophylla = From 'lepto' = thin, slender; 'phylla' = leaves, hence thin leaves. (Greek origin) |
